Pregnancy & Postpartum
In addition to my massage therapy certification, I have received certification in Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage Therapy from Kate Jordan Seminars. When a woman is pregnant, they are in a special, crucial and beautiful place in their lives. Therefore, they should have specialized qualified massage therapist; that's why I always recommend not only my family and friends but my clients as well to always request their prenatal massages to be with a qualified therapist. During pregnancy and postpartum a woman should always discuss massage with their prenatal care provider to be informed of the benefits and risks of massage, that's why it is important to work with a knowledgeable massage therapist.
PregnancyMassage sessions can begin at any point in your pregnancy. Many women wait until after their first trimester because of increased risk associated for miscarriage in the first 12 weeks. But no research has been done to show that massage causes miscarriage. Always ask your healthcare provider before receiving massage therapy. Prenatal massage also benefits your baby.

Postpartum
Postpartum massage can take place as soon as the new mommy feels comfortable and ready to relax. I will take the right steps to position mommy in a comfortable way if abdomen and breast are sore. If there were maternal complications, first speak with your medical provider. Your newborn baby is welcomed during our session if you wish.
